We print dozens of charity event banners every year. Here's what makes them effective.
Charity banners win when they show impact, thank sponsors clearly, and include a scan to donate QR code. BPSD gives UK registered charities 25% off retail, email the charity number to claim.
Charity Banners Have a Different Job
Commercial banners sell. Charity banners raise awareness, thank donors, and drive engagement.
What makes a charity banner land
A real photo of a real beneficiary, a clear ask, and the charity logo at a size people can actually see from 30 feet.
1. Donor Recognition Banners
5ft Γ 3ft: "THANK YOU to our sponsors" + donor logos by tier.
2. Fun Run Banners
Start line, finish line, route sponsors, bright, high-contrast, visible in photos.
A charity banner is not an advert, it is a thank you and a nudge. Warmth beats polish, every time.
3. "This Is What Your Donation Does" Banners
"Β£50 = 1 month's supplies" with photo of actual beneficiary. Emotional impact drives donations.
4. Auction / Raffle Banners
"Silent Auction, Bid Here".
5. Goal Progress Banner
Thermometer banner, update during event with marker pens.
6. Volunteer & Info Points
Help people find staff.
Design Principles
- Charity logo BIG
- Keep it warm, not corporate
- Show the impact
- Include QR code to donate
A QR code on a fundraising banner pays for the banner several times over. Make it big enough to scan from a metre away.
QR codes that actually work
Minimum 10cm square on a 5ft banner. Plain black on white inside a white panel. Avoid patterned backgrounds that confuse the camera.
