Pick mesh whenever the banner goes on scaffolding, construction hoarding, fence lines or exposed outdoor sites. Pick solid PVC for indoor events, shop fronts, birthdays and flush mounted wall graphics.

What Is a Mesh Banner?
Mesh banners are perforated PVC, they look solid from 30 feet away, but up close you can see thousands of tiny holes. Typical mesh: 350 GSM PVC with ~35% open area.
Why Those Holes Matter
Wind passes through instead of catching it like a sail.
When You Need Mesh
1. Scaffolding Wraps
Scaffold contractors won't even let you fix solid vinyl to a scaffold, they require mesh.
2. Construction Hoarding
Exposure to wind, rain and sun destroys solid PVC in 6-18 months. Mesh holds up.
Solid PVC on a 20 metre scaffold is a sail waiting for a breeze. Mesh is not a luxury, it is a safety choice.
3. Fence-Line Banners
Along chain-link fencing in exposed locations.
4. Stadium & Event Perimeters
Outdoor sport venue hoardings and festival perimeters.
5. Tall Fence Panels
Solid vinyl above 1.5m becomes structurally risky in wind.
When You Do NOT Need Mesh
- Indoor events, holes let light through

The Colour Trade-Off
Mesh prints slightly softer. Minimal at viewing distance but noticeable close up.
Mesh is designed to be seen from the other side of the road, not from 30cm away. Judge it from where your audience will actually stand.
Fixings for mesh
Brass eyelets every 50cm along the top, bungee cord to the scaffold frame. Never cable tie solid PVC to high scaffolding, ever.
